Making Christmas Pudding

Sunrise East Gloucester MA – Stir Up Sunday Christmas Pudding

Stir-Up Sunday! Making a Steamed Brandied Dried Fruit Christmas Steamed Pudding using Mary Berry’s British Baking Show Masterclass Recipe ( Netflix ). For dried fruits I am using dried Turkish apricots, raisins I dried myself from grapes in my dehydrator, Yellow raisins, dried cherries, dried cranberries, chopped apple, Orange rind grated, orange juice and chopped almonds with spices. You mix this all up together with fresh bread crumbs, self rising flour ( I made my own after looking it up on Google after I couldn’t find it in grocery store) , brown sugar, butter, and eggs. You seal it in a buttered bowl and steam for 7 hours. Then you store the pudding till Xmas Day Dinner and steam it before serving, turn out on plate and pour brandy over it and light it on fire and serves with a brandy hard sauce. Can’t wait! First time making one myself. My grandmother and stepmother always made them. The smell in the kitchen is wonderful. Apparently, in the U.K. the children stir the pudding and sing Christmas Songs about figgy pudding and we wish you a Merry Christmas etc. Doing my own Stir Up Dunday watching Rick Steve’s Christmas They Europe Travel Show! #christmaspudding #stirupsunday #steamedchristmaspudding #brandiedpudding #christmasdesserts #driedfruits #wewishyouamerrychristmas #ricksteveseurope #britishbakingshow #christmasbritishbakingmasterclass #maryberryrecipe #gloucesterma #cozycomfyhome #gloucestersunrise #backshore #eastgloucester #atlanticocean #atlanticdawn
